Latitude: Location Scouting

Reading through the script again, I have created a list of flexible locations that our director wants for the UK acts. Over the course of this week and next, myself, Sam and Alex will be travelling around the Midlands, London and Bristol searching for suitable locations to film in. We will hopefully be able to find the locations we are looking for.

Beaches:

  • Weston Super Mare.
  • Wales.

Geeky Office/Tech/Gamer Shops:

  • CEX/HMV.
  • Game Station/Game.
  • Games Workshop.
  • Car-Phone Warehouse.
  • Smaller local computer shops.

Woodland Areas:

  • Woods in/around Birmingham/Coventry/Bristol.
  • Coombe Park (Coventry).
  • Lake/Peak District.

EDIT: (Tuesday 20th March Myself and Sam travelled to Coombe Abbey and Lionel Hughes Photographica to ask for their locations to film in):

Cafes In Bristol/London/Coventry/Birmingham.

For the California Act the locations detailed include:

  • The Golden Gate Bridge.
  • Malibu.
  • Venice Beach.
  • Hollywood.
  • Desert.
  • Cafes.
  • Motels.
  • Hotels.
  • Los Angeles.
  • San Francisco.

To promote ourselves as a ‘student film’ we will require official letters signed from the University which we will be obtaining this week. By saying we are a ‘student’ group, we are more likely to be able to film on specific locations without all the legal restrictions that would be required for large film productions. In particular while we are in America, we also bring ourself out of the high budget competition bracket. As our budget is so low, we have such a tight restriction on prices we are willing to pay for locations, therefore we are hoping to get them for free or advertising/product placement.
